Break a world record – join the Worldwide Manchester Run

Join us on Saturday, 29 May, 12noon (BST)

The University is encouraging our alumni, students, staff, prospective students, partners and friends to create the largest online run in history.

So far, over 630 people across the world have already signed-up to the Worldwide Manchester Run and there’s still time to get involved and be part of this record-making community.

The event will be hosted over Zoom so anyone can join from wherever they are in the world – all you need to do is to be filmed or film yourself moving on camera.

This run is part of the Univesity’s Alumni Team’s social responsibility programming. Participants are invited to make a donation to the Student Support Appeal or to one of the nominated charities, local to our University of Manchester Worldwide Centres.

Participants can run with others, however we are encouraging each person to sign-up individually and to film themselves individually so they can all be counted towards the world record attempt (if more than one person is running on the same video they can’t both be counted for the world record).

We’re asking particpnats to share their involvment on social media by mentioning @alumniUoM on Instagram or Twitter, with photographs and selfies encouarged!

Join this global volunteer action and experience the power of the Manchester community!
