Share your views and experience: Public engagement in research survey

by | May 28, 2025

Share your insights and support an important piece of advocacy work for Public Engagement and the wider research sector.

The Royal Society is reprising the Factors Affecting Public Engagement by UK Researchers [cms.wellcome.org] survey last conducted in 2015. There are three ways we’d ideally like your help:

  1. Complete the survey yourself – we want to know what the on-the-ground experience of planning and delivering public engagement looks like from as many professionals as possible
  2. Disseminate the survey to researchers at your institution or within your network
  3. Perhaps most importantly, we want the survey to reach researchers who don’t do engagement activities, including non-science researchers – as the reasons/barriers for why engagement isn’t a priority will be especially revealing

The link to the survey is: https://www.research.net/r/RS_public_engagement_12 [research.net] and the deadline for completion is midnight, Monday 30 June.

We appreciate any help you’re able to provide as the success of the survey will hinge on pooling as diverse a range of voices and viewpoints as possible. Please contact
