Science Busking training – 9 May 2019, 13:00 – 16:00

Calling all University of Manchester posgraduate and undergraduates, come and see what science busking is all about…

This practical workshop looks at how you can improve your communication skills for public engagement activities such as science busking. From style and approach, to content and delivery, this session will get you started in engaging a variety of non-specialists audiences. Science Busking involves approaching people, showing them intriguing and entertaining science demonstrations or tricks – much like street magicians! As a Science Busker, you will help to enthuse and engage with visitors, bringing the fun and wonder of hands-on science tricks to the streets of Manchester. You will get to meet and work with like-minded people and enjoy a positive and memorable experience.

Following the training you be offered the opportunity to take part in range of public engagement opportunities on and off campus including our forthcoming University Community Festival (Saturday 15 June 2019).
