October saw the launch of a brand new sector report which Professor Lynne Bianchi and the Science & Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub at The Univesity of Mancheter led on, along with The Ogden Trust and Primary Science Teaching Trust.

This report gives teachers, school leaders, governments and other stakeholders key insights into the current landscape of primary science teaching and leadership across the four nations of the UK. It builds on the Wellcome Trust’s 2017 State of the Nation report on UK primary science education.

The report is a timely contribution as the English government release the new Curriculum & Assessment Review, in which SEERIH’s research is recognised. Working with Policy@MCR the team seeks to support the interpretation of this report with senior leaders in schools to drive towards ongoing improvement to primary science education.
