In conversation – Jon Alexander
Tue 14 Nov, 5.15 – 6.45pm Theatre A, Roscoe Building, The University of Manchester
Students, staff and guests of the University all welcome.
The School of Environment, Education and Development at the University of Manchester is delighted to welcome Jon Alexander for a special in conversation event led by our students.
Jon Alexander believes that we could be on the cusp of a very different world – if only more of the people in positions of power and influence in our societies could see the possibility of stepping into the Citizen Story.
Is there any way out of the mess we’re in? This student-led conversation with CITIZENS author and New Citizenship Project co-founder will explore how we can think and act like citizens, and why ultimately the key to fixing everything is all of us.
Jon is an award-winning marketer, having worked on advertising campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands. Then, when he realised he was caught up in a story he didn’t believe in: the Consumer Story, he made a dramatic change.
Now, as the New Citizenship Project co-founder and CITIZENS author, Jon partners with organisations and institutions including the Co-op, BBC, the Guardian, and many more to explore the possibility of stepping into the Citizen Story.
Join student founders of the One World Together Students’ Union Society for this interactive conversation as we explore how we can think and act like citizens in our University space, how we can position ourselves as future leaders in an uncertain world, and why, ultimately, the key to fixing everything is all of us.
- Join us to explore how we can think and act like citizens, not consumers, and why the key to fixing everything is all of us.
