Our top five stories from October

As we step into a new month, we’re sharing five social responsibility highlights from our latest newsletter.

We are delighted to have achieved the highest possible score in the latest Knowledge Exchange Framework, recognising our work in public and community engagement, as well as intellectual property and commercialisation and research partnerships.

During October we recognised and celebrated Black History Month through a range of inspiring activities and events across campus. The theme this year was ‘Saluting our sisters’ which highlights the crucial role that Black women have played in shaping history and more.

Our hard work and dedication towards decarbonising the campus has been shortlisted for a Green Gown Award in the 2030 Climate Action category. We have just released a new zero carbon animation, underscoring our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are thrilled to announce that an original project, Still Parents: Life After Baby Loss exhibition at the Whitworth, has been awarded the Creative Community award in this year’s Spirit of Manchester Awards.

And finally, our wonderful new social responsibility film was premiered at our annual Foundation Day, in which we explore how social responsibility is embedded in everything we do here at The University of Manchester.
