Keeping Well at Home booklet for older people
The hardest hit members of our community during the pandemic include older people. In order to support this group, the University’s Healthy Ageing Research Group teamed up with the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub and the Combined Authority by creating the Keeping Well at Home booklet.
Aiming to support those who are self-isolating during COVID-19, the booklet was co-produced with the GM Older People’s Network and was printed and distributed across Greater Manchester and the UK.
The booklet has recently been updated based following the findings of a postal evaluation amongst those who had received a copy. Further sections and practical information on home exercises, mental wellbeing, nutrition and hydration, fire and home safety and much more have now been added. You can read the report here.
The booklet has also been featured as a case study on the World Health Organisation’s website, highlighting global best practice for age-friendly communities during the pandemic.
You can download and print a copy of the updated booklet on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority website or alternatively, the national version of the original booklet is available to print and share with a loved one here.
