Volunteer of the Year
Do you know a University of Manchester student, member of staff or alumnus who you think is worthy of a Volunteer of the Year Award? Then please make a nomination. The form is short and easy to complete and you can even nominate yourself!
Every year the University celebrates the actions of students, staff and alumni who give their time and commitment to communities locally, nationally and internationally through the Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Nominations are now open for the 2019 Awards for three categories:
- Student of the Year – open to any current undergraduate or postgraduate of The University of Manchester. This award is in association with University of Manchester Students’ Union.
- Staff of the Year – open to any current staff member of the University.
- Alumni of the Year – open to any graduate of The University of Manchester (including Victoria University and UMIST).
This year, for the first time ever, there will be awards in the student category for individuals and teams.
To be eligible for these awards, the activities must address disadvantaged groups or deprived communities. Nominations should also not be for work that is part of a nominee’s job but be over and above that which is expected.
Each winner receives a cash prize for their organisation: £300 for the overall winner, and £200 and £100 for the 2nd and 3rd place runners up. In addition the overall winner in each category is put forward for the University’s prestigious Medal for Social Responsibility.
Nominations close 9am on Monday 4 March.
