Museum of Medicine and Health: are digital museums better?
Join the University’s Museum of Medicine and Health and a panel of speakers as we discuss and debate virtual collections and in person object encounters.
On Wednesday 21 February, this online event hosts a panel of medical historians, researchers and digital engagement specialists to consider how digital exhibitions are another step forward for breaking down barriers in access to medical collections. Our guests will also discuss how object-handling opportunities benefit student learning and public experience.
The event marks the launch of a new online exhibition through Manchester Digital Collections.
The Museum of Medicine and Health is part of the Universty’s Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. Over 50 years old, it was established with the opening of the Stopford Building and holds and cares for hundreds of objects representing a history of medical teaching and practice in Manchester and beyond.
