Our top 5 stories in May

Here are our 5 top social responsibility stories this month:

Earlier this month, we hosted our annual Making a Difference Awards, celebrating the achievements of 34 students, colleagues, alumni and partner initiatives making a positive difference through social responsibility. From improving the accessibility and inclusivity of graduation to developing a digital app that can halve psychosis relapse, the awards highlighted the breadth of impact across our University community.

A new Manchester Evening News film and article featuring our President and Vice-Chancellor, Duncan Ivison, has also been published. The feature explores the University’s civic mission and the role that people, partnerships and place will play in shaping its future.

Manchester Museum has been confirmed as the most visited attraction in Greater Manchester for the third year running. With highlights including the South Asia Gallery and the new Human Nature exhibition, there is plenty to explore.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of our flagship Manchester Access Programme. Since 2006, more than 8,500 students have completed the programme, reflecting our long-standing commitment to widening access to higher education for young people across Greater Manchester.

Looking ahead, our free Universally Manchester Festival returns on Saturday 13 June, bringing a day of curiosity, inspiration and hands-on activity for all the family.
