On 26 October staff and students from across the University joined a whole host of guest speakers at an event organised by the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) to mark 30 years of Black History Month.

Budding photographers are invited to take part in a competition celebrating the University’s new interactive tree trail which went live on the 12 October following a fun and engaging launch event at the Manchester Museum.

On 8 November we are hosting our annual flagship environmental sustainability event.

On Tuesday 17 October, almost 1,500 students attended our annual Volunteering and Social Justice Fair.

Medic and founder of life-changing medical charity The Little Things, Rathaven Gunaratnarajah, has been honoured by the Prime Minster for setting up a charity which delivers life-saving medical equipment, by presenting him with a Point of Light Award for his outstanding volunteering work.

The University of Manchester’s Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre (MFHRC) is one of the largest pregnancy research groups in Europe, with the aim of ‘finding solutions to pregnancy problems’.

On 11 October the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health hosted a lunchtime session to celebrate the work the University is doing for equality and diversity as part of Black History Month 2017.

Over 100 University of Manchester alumni working in social responsibility roles are inspiring the next generation to follow their career paths by sharing advice with current students and fellow graduates.
