BioDiscovery for British Science Week 2022 – Schools Outreach & Public Engagement Opportunity

by | Jan 13, 2022

Volunteers are invited to provide short and engaging video resources (2-5 mins) to enthuse school pupils about the Biological and Biomedical Sciences. These resources will be made available online to schools and colleges during British Science Week (11-20th March 2022).

The resources can be used to explain your research area, teaching speciality or subject, or you can present pre-existing resources to a new audience. All scientific backgrounds welcome including academic staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students and technical staff.

British Science Week, a 10-day celebration of Science, Technology and Maths, aims to encourage and enthuse school-age pupils and the public to enjoy and study scientific subjects. In 2020, we ran BioDiscovery at the Manchester Museum to celebrate and showcase the Biological Sciences to local secondary school students. In 2021 and this year, BioDiscovery is run online with the same principle aims of reaching out to young people to share our fascination with all things Biological.
