cities@manchester animated urbanism competition – winners

by | Oct 22, 2014

Our recent Animated Urbanism competition offered University of Manchester researchers, keen to disseminate their work to wider audiences, the opportunity to turn their findings into a short animation made by Toasted Productions.

We received a high volume of quality entries from across multiple academic disciplines. We are very pleased to announce the winners:

  • Federico Cugurullo: Unveiling the Eco-city phenomenon: is this the (urban) future?
  • Stephen Hincks: Uneven geographies of austerity urbanism
  • Deljana Iossifova: Shanghai: sanitation, differentiation and inequality
  • Chris Shannahan: Urban social exclusion and graffiti spiritualities
  • Erik Swyngedouw & Japhy Wilson: The post-political city and the insurgent polis

Check out the fantastic animations, along with the rest of the series, on the cities@manchester website: www.cities.manchester.ac.uk/resources/animation/
