Conflict and Survival – Photography Competition – Society of Biology

by | Aug 3, 2015

Photography Competition: This year’s theme is Conflict & Survival and the competition is open for entries!

We are seeking entries for our 2015 annual amateur photography competition that capture conflict and survival within the natural world. This may be an example of aggressive encounters between animals in their natural environment, a plant’s struggle for resources within an arid environment or thriving bacteria in cell culture.

We welcome entries that explore this theme at the molecular or sub-cellular level, illustrating the complex physiology or genetic factors that influence survival instinct and habitat conflict. These could be biomedical images or examples of photomicrography using any type of light microscope techniques.

Awards: There are two categories in the competition, each with a cash prize:

  • Young Photographer of the Year (under 18) – £500 top prize
  • Photographer of the Year (18 and over) – £1,000 top prize

How to enter: To enter this free competition you will need to register your details with the website. Existing users can login with their mySociety details.

The closing date for all submissions is Monday 31 August 2015. If you have any queries regarding this competition, contact us at photocomp@rsb.org.uk
