Are you looking to boost your public engagement practice? Join the Skill Sharing session on 29 of March 12-1:30pm on Zoom.

“Community Engagement: different ways of working with community partners”

Join this free online session on Wednesday 29 March 2022 between 12 and 1:30 pm. The session will include case studies about different ways of working with community partners and principles of what makes a good partnership, followed by a Q&A section.

About the speakers:

Sally Bonnie founder of Inspire Women Oldham will share case studies of projects designed and delivered in partnerships with a group of women from Oldham, community researchers and academic researchers from Manchester universities, such as the Austerity and Altered Life-Courses project with Prof Sarah Marie Hall. She’ll be joined by Selina, StrongHer Together Associate, who plays a key part in the organisation and the projects showcased. Inspire Women is a grassroot Women’s Organisation based in Oldham, empowering women through involvement. Find more about their recent work here.

Rose Ssali, Chief Executive Officer for Support & Action Women’s Network (SAWN), will be joined by one of the women involved in ‘Sisters of Yam and Growing to Grow’ a partnership project with Dr Suryia Nayak at University of Salford. The project is amplifying the voices of Black women from Greater Manchester, building a relationship with a researcher to highlight their experiences, facilitate conversations and improve mental wellbeing through horticulture and singing. This programme is primarily aimed University Staff, Post-Docs, Postgraduate Students (PhD and PGT) and Public Contributors with little to no experience in public engagement but are also open to anyone wanting to know more about public engagement practice.
