Welcome to our last newsletter of the academic year.
As part our bicentenary celebrations, the remodelled Old Quad section on campus has now reopened. The enhancement maintains the historic fabric of the space and showcases our dedication to sustainability, whilst continuing to act as an area to accommodate a wide range of events and activities.
We are thrilled to announce that The University of Manchester has been named top in both the UK and Europe, and second in the world for meaningful contributions towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings.
We were named as the UK’s most sustainable university at the QS EduData Summit held in June 2024. We were awarded the title of ‘Sustainability Champion’ in celebration of our standout achievements within the area of environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
This year our annual Community Fair was part of the University’s bicentennial celebrations. Over four unforgettable days the University welcomed thousands of visitors to join us for imaginative, hands-on events and activities which took place across our campus.
Apprentices Franca Imariagbe, Tom Healey, Katie Yates and Jeni Kongolo have shared their experience of working at the University, highlighting good quality work opportunities to people living in our neighbouring communities.
Read about all these and much more in our June/July newsletter.
