University shortlisted for Gulbenkian Award

On 12 January, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, along with King’s College London, announced the shortlist for their new award that celebrates the civic role of arts organisations in society.

Manchester Institute of Education host climate crisis conference for teachers

On Thursday 7 January 2021, The University’s Institute of Education hosted an online ‘PGCE Generation Readied by Environmental Education Now (GREEN) Conference’, designed to open up discussions on how schools and colleges can take environmental action and enable teachers to develop educational responses to the climate crisis.

Alumni contribute to the UN75 project

On 19 November 2020, as part of ‘Manchester Day of Action’ (a global volunteer activism programme which inspires alumni to undertake social responsibility voluntary work) the University invited 22 alumni from across the Americas (split between north and south) to participate in an online workshop which discussed the fundamental basis of the United Nation’s (UN) charter.
