The end of 2019 saw the publication of the Inclusive Growth Analysis Unit (IGAU) legacy report Inclusive Growth in Greater Manchester 2020: Taking Stock and Looking Forward.

The end of January and all of February are always very significant for the University and its LGBT Community.

Manchester is one of only two UK universities to be a member of the University Social Responsibility Network (USRN), this means our students can take part in the USRN’s programme of international events.

If you know a staff member, student group, student or alumnus from The University of Manchester who you think is worthy of a Volunteer of the Year Award, make a nomination.

Our progress on social responsibility has been significant over the past month, with a wide range of activities and initiatives happening across campus and beyond.

Are you involved in a community group that has a great idea for a community event or project or wants to extend its community offer? The University of Manchester and its main construction partners – Balfour Beatty, LaingO’Rourke and Vinci support the University Construction Community fund which helps neighbourhood initiatives in areas closest to the University’s construction sites around Oxford Road and near Owens Park, Wilmslow Road.

The University was highly commended in the Most Sustained Scheme category at the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards in London on 18 November.

On Tuesday 3 December, the world will celebrate #GivingTuesday, a global day to do ‘good stuff’ where everyone can do something to support the good causes and communities that mean so much to them.
