Every year the University celebrates the actions of staff, students and alumni who give their time and commitment to communities locally, national and internationally through the Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Did you know that there are nearly 100 more cancer cases per 100,000 population in the city of Manchester compared to the UK average, and that Manchester residents are more likely to die from cancer than anywhere else in the UK?

In 2016, the University raised over £75,000 for charity through the Great Manchester 10K.

As part of a year of social action under the banner of JustFest Presents, we are hosting a series of events that aim to engage students with current social justice issues.
