“Regenerating the future” is a play supported by the Wellcome trust ISSF public engagement funding.

Congratulations to the University’s Social Enterprise Team from UMIP and Manchester Enterprise Centre (MEC) for winning the Higher Education Institute Recognition Award for Innovation in Delivery of Support to Social Entrepreneurs earlier this month.

160 students from 22 schools and colleges across the region took part in a two-day interactive Investment Challenge at Alliance Manchester Business School to develop their skills in finance and improve their business awareness.

Youngsters from across Greater Manchester were wowed by the inspiration given to them by The University of Manchester’s own Women of Wonder.

Recently 15 members of staff from the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), plus 3 of their partners, and a dog called Stanley) climbed Mount Snowdon.

Danielle George, Professor of Microwave Communication Engineering at the University, has been presented with the 2016 Rooke Award by the Royal Academy of Engineering for her efforts to promote the subject to the public.

The University recently facilitated a workshop bringing together three activists from South Africa with Manchester community groups to share experiences, tactics and ideas relating to inequalities experienced by individuals irrespective of their location in the world.

In May we held our annual Making a Difference Awards.

This summer, the Environmental Sustainability team at the University have been lucky enough to be joined by MSc student, Yan Guo, who is researching biodiversity across the campus.

The 10th Annual Cycle Event (ACE), in partnership with Corridor MCR Travel, outside Manchester Metropolitan University was for the another fantastic hit.
