The Faculty of Science and Engineering is pleased to be hosting University of Manchester alumni Dr Michelle Dickinson who will deliver a masterclass on science communication: ‘STEMM is for everyone: Inclusivity in Science Communication’.

This event is taking place on Tuesday 18 June, 3.00-4.30pm in Alan Turing Building G.107.

Michelle is a bestselling author of The Kitchen Science Cookbook and No 8 Recharged and host and co-creator of TV show Nanogirl and the imaginautsand podcasts Nanogirl’s Great Science Adventures and Stupid Questions For Scientists.

Michelle has made it her life mission to make science and engineering fun and accessible for all. In this session, Michelle will discuss how science can be more inclusive to encourage minority groups to be involved in STEMM with a focus on how minority groups can gain confidence in science communication. Michelle will argue that ‘Science is everywhere and science is for everyone.’

This event is suitable for anyone wishing to learn more about inclusivity and diversity in science communication, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, academics and PS staff members.
