Ardwick Climate Action Day
On Sunday 2 October, 50 students from University of Manchester took part in the first Ardwick Climate Action Day. They worked with local climate activists to close part of the A6 to cars and helped to steward the road while groups, including skateboarders and a children’s rollerskating school, were able to enjoy some safe playtime in an otherwise dangerous and polluted area. Volunteers also planted hedges, bulbs, litter picked and improved school entrances, as well as enjoying a free vegan lunch!
Staff from the Manchester Museum also supported the event as well as Manchester City Council and a range of local businesses.
