Bronze Payroll Giving Quality Mark Awarded

The generosity of University of Manchester staff has led to the award of a Bronze Payroll Giving Quality Mark. The award recognises those employers and employees that are making a difference together through Workplace Giving.

The Payroll Giving Quality Mark is funded by the Government and administered and promoted by the Institute of Fundraising. The Bronze Mark is awarded to organisations where 1% of their employees are participating in a payroll giving scheme.

The University’s Workplace Giving Scheme had a very successful relaunch in October 2014 and in that time staff donors have increased by over 200% and donations by nearly 120%. Over £9,800 was generously donated by staff in May alone which puts our staffing community’s annual donations on target for £117,000 to their favourite causes.

Dr Julian Skyrme, the Director of Social Responsibility said: “It is fantastic to see the generosity of so many staff at the University recognised in this way. Workplace Giving allows colleagues to make a difference with regular or one off donations that give the full taxable amount, without any administration costs for the charities.”
