On Tuesday of Welcome Week all 8,000 new first year undergraduates students were invited to take part in the Sustainability Challenge.

The University is hosting its annual Volunteering and Social Justice Fair on Tuesday 17 October in Academy 1.

Our School of Computer Science has recently launched Animation18, an animation competition aimed at school and college students aged from 7-19.

For one weekend in July, the observatory at Jodrell Bank, known for its huge radio telescope, transforms into Bluedot Festival.

The Manchester Access Programme (MAP) is the University’s flagship widening participation scheme for local post-16 pupils who are from backgrounds currently underrepresented in higher education.

The University offers a range of widening access schemes aimed at talented post-16 students from under represented backgrounds to help support progression to the University or another research intensive institution.

The University’s Legal Advice Centre (LAC) is run by School of Law to give free legal advice to members of the public who are not able to access legal advice elsewhere and to provide real world experience to law students.

To recognise and communicate the outstanding social responsibility activities across the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), we will once again be holding the ‘Better World Showcase’.

With over 200 members of staff now volunteering as governors in local schools and colleges, many managers will have colleagues within their teams undertaking this important role.
