Creative Facilitator, CHSTM

I am a creative facilitator and public engagement lead for the Animal Research Nexus and Multispecies Medicine projects.

Their research focuses around the cultural relations and ethical obligations that society creates by collaborating with non-human life in pursuit of human health and wellbeing.

I design collaborative interventions around everyday objects and experiences that make participants complicit in the consequences of their interactions so that they may reimagine their relationship to/with the original material’s construction, definition or purpose

Public engagement highlights

I took Silent Signal to Korea; seeing an exhibition you are really familiar with translated into a language you do not speak allows you to see it in a whole new way.

I also mentored on a new art and science programme at KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology), which was a lot of fun and produced some outstanding projects.

I recently produced an immersive theatre experience with The Lab Collective, about ethical review boards.

One performance included a nine-year-old’s birthday party which was unexpected, moderately terrifying but an incredible and memorable experience for all of us.

Best public engagement advice

“If it is finished, does it need an audience?” – Renny O’Shea, artistic director of Quarantine Theatre, and an incredibly brilliant and generous human.
