Wonder Day Volunteer Recruitment

Are you interested in sharing the excitement of science in the local community? Do you want to help create a buzz while inspiring tomorrow’s scientists? Or do you simply want to share in the pleasure of helping others to discover new things? If so we are looking for volunteers to help at the first ‘Wonder Day’ on Saturday 3 August 2019 at Holy Trinity church, Stalybridge!

This event will be a community-driven, family day of science-themed experiences, workshops and hands on activities. We aim to bring the excitement and wonder of science and nature to those who might not normally get a chance to encounter it. Featuring everything from a mobile planetarium to a robotics workshop to drop in zones for all your favourite physical sciences our aim is to leave visitors feeling amazed, inspired and keen to find out more. The whole event is being actively supported by and hosted in a large local church right in the heart of Stalybridge.

We are looking for volunteers to help deliver this exciting day. The only requirements are that you should be able to have great fun while helping to perform some simple experiments/demonstrations and chatting science with our visitors. Most of all though we are looking for people who are willing to come and share their passion and enthusiasm for science with others. If this is you and you can spare an hour, a morning, an afternoon or even the whole day then please get in touch as it’d be great to share the day with you.

Also if you have an amazing idea for a science demo that you think people would love on the day then please share your ideas as well. We’d love to make some space for and to support you in this!
